Manager for Communications and Marketing - Guggenheim Abu Dhabi

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Working independently, under the guidance of the Senior Manager for Marketing and Communications, the Manager for Communications and Marketing will have a collaborative role in developing integrated marketing programs and a communications strategy that leverages traditional and digital media to support select exhibitions, programs, and other initiatives at the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. Working with the Senior Manager for Communications and Marketing, Guggenheim stakeholders and DCT’s Marketing and Communication department, this position will participate in all aspects of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi marketing project management leading up to the opening, including media planning and placement; copywriting; design and production of materials; managing project schedules, tasks, deliverables, and approvals for multiple internal and external stakeholders; and ensuring that campaigns meet strategic objectives.
This position will work with senior stakeholders in New York and Abu Dhabi to manage any communications issues that may arise during the Museum’s construction.

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in an arts or cultural publicity/marketing department – visual arts environment preferred, coupled with a passion for arts and culture and knowledge of modern and contemporary art a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and with staff at all levels across the organization.
• Fluency in English; Reading and speaking knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with WordPress, InDesign and Photoshop a plus.
• Provide on the ground support for Guggenheim Abu Dhabi marketing planning and campaign implementation.
• Write and edit materials including releases, fact sheets, briefing documents, media alerts, and pitch letters.
• Manage the selection and distribution of press images for assigned projects.
• With direction from Senior Manager, plan and produce media events for assigned exhibitions, including invitation design, compiling media guest lists, distributing press releases and invitations, liaising with Advancement to finalize donor recognition, drafting and or reviewing remarks, and creating the run of show and interview schedules.

WORK DEMANDS and ENVIRONMENT:
• Ability to travel as required to perform the above duties at any of the Guggenheim’s owned or leased properties upon request.
• Occasionally work may be conducted outdoors, exposure to varied weather conditions.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays on occasion.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.

LOCATION: Guggenheim Abu Dhabi
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 Hours per Week, Schedule TBD
POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Non-Exempt.
