We are looking for a Speech & Language Therapist to join our specialized Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive assessments, formulations, and interventions to young people and their families. This role is clinical and requires experience with a range of conditions, including developmental delays and various syndromes and disorders.
Day to day of the role:
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and interventions as part of the CAMHS team’s work.
- Measure and evaluate therapy outcomes within the context of evidence-based practice.
- Provide individual speech therapy sessions tailored to the needs of each young person.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate closely with other specialists to ensure comprehensive therapy.
- Report directly to and work closely with the Head of Speech Therapy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with Early Intervention, developmental delays, and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
- Knowledge of visual/auditory impairment, genetic syndromes, neuropathologies, PDD, sensory integration difficulties, and learning difficulties.
- Familiarity with mental health difficulties in teenagers, such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders, is advantageous.
- Evidence of patient-centred care and the ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
